A complete team challenge
The overall objective of this deceptively easy sounding team building exercise is to design and construct a complete 3D model of a pre-determined set of structures e.g. town high street, theme park, cruise ship, space station.
Behind this simple premise lies a great deal of detail. The instructions are carefully designed to ensurethat all the key elements of teamwork are tested and rehearsed. Management, planning, delegation, use of resources, communication, deadlines, - these are examples of some of the skills that will need to be applied. All the participants have to make valuable contributions to ensure the project is completed successfully.
The challenge starts in the same way that all projects start - with the idea.
From this point onwards it is for the team to take it forward
to completion. Inevitably, some parameters are defined but
these are general rather than specific. As in real world situations,
some of these limitations and requirements will be obvious;
others may be less so, but vital nonetheless.
Again, as in all projects, the route from start to finish is not
pre-determined; the team will be expected to plan their own.
They will need to be careful to ensure that their plan is capable
of implementation and be prepared to adapt to the unforseen.
Participants can expect to find 'Architects and Builders' thought-provoking, rewarding and fun.
'Architects and Builders' normally lasts approximately 3 hours.
Experienced facilitators host the event.
Regular monitoring, mid-session review breaks and a concluding review are features of the exercise.
Teams of 15 - 25 are ideal.
Suitable for groups of up to 200.
